1. The service
Gotgrade is an online marketplace where students post academic questions and independent tutors offer help. Gotgrade is not a party to the agreement between a student and a tutor, but holds payments in escrow and mediates disputes.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tutor accounts must be approved by Gotgrade before sending offers. We may refuse or remove a tutor at our discretion.
- We may suspend accounts that break these terms or the Academic Integrity Policy.
3. Payments and escrow
- Students fund their wallet in advance. Accepting an offer charges the full price to the wallet and holds it in escrow.
- Escrow is released to the tutor when the student marks the order complete, or when an admin resolves a dispute.
- Gotgrade keeps a platform fee of 25% of each completed order. Tutors receive the remaining 75%.
- Payments must stay on Gotgrade. Arranging payment outside the platform is not allowed and removes escrow protection.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Gotgrade to submit another person's work as your own where this is prohibited, to sit exams on behalf of others, to share illegal or harmful content, to harass others, or to upload malware. See the Academic Integrity Policy.
5. Content
You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant Gotgrade the rights needed to host and show it to the people involved in your question and to admins for moderation and dispute resolution.
6. Liability
Tutors are independent and responsible for their work. To the extent permitted by law, Gotgrade's liability for any claim is limited to the fees we received for the order concerned.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
